OUR HR TRANSFORMATION
PROGRAMME

HMPS is a large, complex organisation. Fundamentally we're a people business. A major part of our People Strategy involves the implementation of our HR Transformation Project (PDF 305kb). This project is one of the largest in Central Government so far and the new Shared Service Centre is central to all of this. HMPS are spending around £30 million on implementing the new working model alone, which demonstrates the sheer size of the change.

This massive improvement is designed to allow our new HR positions to move from a more traditional and administrative role to one that is similar to a consultant, project manager and advisor. So you'll be free to implement people strategies to develop our staff, grow our management capability, enhance communications and improve performance. While we can't promise that your role will be totally free from bureaucracy, you will have the chance to make a real impact.
